New woodland development at Gurnal Bridge

The most recent developments for the management of the riverside field at Gurnal Bridge arise following the sad death of Judith Helling, formerly of Hollin Root, and former owner of the field between the new lane and the river which had become isolated and has now been acquired by the Robert Stephenson Charities. It had long been Judith’s wish to see the land planted with trees and the Parish Council has begun that process but it will be completed through the means of a programme initiated by Westmorland and Furness Council to grant-aid the planting of a tree to represent every member of the local community.
